CORRECTIVE DUAL LASER ALIGNMENT AND FIELD BALANCING PROGRAM

Field Balancing

Dynamic in-place balancing reduces downtime and saves labor and shipping costs. This type of balancing avoids any errors that can occur when rotating components are not balanced in place, within their own bearings and operating environment.

Vibration analysis is performed in conjunction with each balance job, first to confirm that the machine does indeed need a balance job, and second to ensure it does not need any other maintenance work performed first. Performing full vibration spectral analysis actually reduces the time spent balancing your equipment because other problems, if present, are identified and dealt with before the balance process is started.

Maintenance Tip: Make sure rotors are clean before balancing for best results.

Dual Laser Alignment

Aligning the shaft centerlines on two or more machines will ensure less energy consumption and longer equipment life through increased bearing and seal life.

Using a dual laser system in live mode can help you determine if you have a soft foot condition present; a soft foot must be addressed before a successful alignment can be performed. Thermal growth can be factored in during a cold alignment to account for normal machine expansion when at operating temperatures.

Roll profiling and surface flatness can also be performed.
